In my experience, as soon as people hear that I have a disability, they immediately feel the need to give me suggestions on how to fix it; yoga, pilates, juicing, kale, high protein, low protein, vitamins. They’re coming from a good place of course, but there are a couple problems with this reaction. The first is that though I wish it was, my medical status is not that simple. Of course I wish I could be fixed by just eating more protein, but I wouldn’t be able to even try. The next is that by giving this advice, it sounds like you think you know more then the medical professionals I see. That’s not to say they know everything, they also make mistakes, but they went to years of medical school to try to learn as much as they could about the human body. The last and in my opinion, most important, is that by giving this advice, you’re assuming I haven’t tried everything humanly possible. Since being diagnosed I’ve tried every diet, every exercise regimen, every set of vitamins. I’ve worked day in and day out to figure out what works for my body so I can function to the best of my abilities. So, although it’s nice that you think you’re helping by making a suggestion to try drinking tea, chances are I’ve tried it and either kept the habit because it worked or dropped it if I didn’t. Usually when we disclose disability, it’s not because we want advice. I know that my friends can’t fix me, I don’t expect them to. Usually it’s just so they can better understand where I’m coming from. It’s a big part of my life that I’m letting them in on. I don’t expect a cure, just someone to hear me and see me with the struggles I face. ⠀

Me hubiera encantado asistir este fin de semana a la gala, que se celebra cada año, para premiar a los atletas de la FNFF ligada a la IFBB PRO LEAGUE, pero por temas laborales no podré asistir. La colazione è troppo importante per essere sottovalutata facendola di corsa con un biscottino inzuppato nel caffè magari stando pure in piedi ☝🏻.
È stato dimostrato più volte, che le persone che abitualmente consumano una colazione equilibrata al mattino, riescono a mantenere un peso ideale e stabile nel lungo tempo, evitando attacchi di fame durante la giornata e soprattutto evitando di arrivare a cena con la voglia di sbranarsi pure il tavolo. Per me è in assoluto il pasto migliore del giorno, infatti molte volte mi capita di farla abbastanza ricca proprio come vuole il proverbio “colazione da Re, pranzo da principe e cena da povero”. Senza carburante non parte al meglio la giornata 💪🏻. E voi siete tipi da colazione con calma al mattino o da biscottino e caffè veloce?
